Kabukis & Art Festivities

We all know that one person who says that there isn’t much to do in Fujairah, and it really bothers me because there’s so much to do, that person is just not looking!

Too many cool things happened on the month of February. Virginia invited me to the Japanese Kabuki event that happened at the Miramar Resort in Dibba. As soon as the show started, I felt like I was in Japan, without exaggeration. It was a super well done show and the actors were so good that even though I did not understand a word they were saying, I heartily enjoyed every bit of it.

Here’s a cultural fact about Japan we learned that day, that unmarried women in Japan only put lipstick on the lower lip, but when they get married they wear it in both lower and upper lips. Here’s a picture of us posing with beautiful Japanese ladies:

We also had some sushi that day. I tried to make a lady try it too, but she spit it out and gulped down on water. I guess it’s one of those thingies you either love or hate.

After that the Fujairah International Arts Festival started off with an amazing opening performance, with His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Hamad present and respectful sons, the night was extraordinary.

The next day, a group of kids from Georgia performed outstandingly. I am literally in love with these kids! They were trained to perfection. I had to take a picture of all of them and put it up on my wall.

What a great month, kudos to everyone who has helped in making this festival a great success. I’m looking forward to the next one!

For more information on the festival, check out www.fujtown.com in the events section, you’ll find pictures and stuff over there. So if you are one of those people that still says there isn’t much to do here, this website will give you enough things to do for the rest of your life.

Until next time, Fajrawis,
