Hey, so you know why it’s freezing outside? Probably because it’s winter in the UAE - the couple of months we all love and couldn’t wait for. June, July, and August, they are the coldest months, we sometimes get snow in the mountains.
Okay in all seriousness, it feels like an oven outside, and we are all mini cakes waiting to be baked to our full potential. So how do we know it’s Summer?
When you enter your car and you get heating on your seat, even if your car doesn’t have that option. It’s complimentary from the Sun, except sometimes it burns your behind.
When you try touching the steering wheel and you get 2nd degree burns on the insides of your hands.
When you take a shower and the water coming out is actually lava remains of a volcano somewhere in the Philippines.
When you finish taking a shower and go out of your house for less than 5 seconds and go back inside, only to find yourself you’ve just finished taking another shower… with your sweat.
When you order Karak and it doesn’t cool down… at all, so you’ll have to drink it hot while it aggressively burns your tongue, and eventually the rest of your pretty little organs.
When you come back home wanting to be in cold atmosphere only to know that the heat had spontaneously busted your air conditioner open, and it would have to be replaced… next week.
When you look up at the beautiful sky and end up blind for half an hour because the sun burned you eyes.
When you wash your hands after lunch and the water coming out of the tap isn’t really water, it’s the liquid of death. Melting your hands away.
When you try to sleep at night but it’s too hot, but you still can’t get rid of your cover because it’s what keeps you safe from night monsters. This one here is a #FirstWorldProblem.
I could just go on and on about the beauties of Summer, but you see, there is one thing about Summer that everyone loves, it’s Summer! For all you college students, get out of there - it’s time for the beach. For all you parents out there, good luck taking your kids around, I know you just want them to go back to school again so you could have your afternoon nap in peace.
Go have fun. Enjoy the heat while you can, because you only get it 365 days of the year. Take yourself to places you’ve never been. But if you’re still under 18 and can’t drive, I suggest you bang your head on the walls and floors until your parents or older siblings will agree to take you out. I’m sorry - but it’s the only way.
Reverse parking… In this heat? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
