Ice in Abu Dhabi? What on earth is going on? It’s a sign of the end of the world. Be prepared people.
I woke up one morning and saw that it wasnt sunny outside, so I went back to sleep thinking it’s still very early in the morning. And then 3 hours later I woke up again, the sun was still not out. And then I realized that the sun was not going to come out so I rushed to the closet and picked up a pair of socks. I wasn’t even feeling cold. I fail to understand the relevance of my behavior towards the weather but… Sometimes things happen like that. Like why do we buy a small sized popcorn when we go to the cinema and end up eating all of it within the first five minutes of the movie. Like I should have gotten the bigger size or something.
It’s hilarious how everyone starts wearing jumpers and socks and pretty much everything thing that keeps them warm when the temperature drops down to 20 degrees celsius. Even some foreigners I know who come from cold countries now feel that 20 degrees calls for sweaters and winter scarves. It’s all about survival of the coldest.
So there I was, wearing socks under my toms shoes about to head out, then rain falls unexpectedly and my socks went from clean and dry to completely soaking wet. It’s not a very nice feeling. Mainly because the socks I wore were one of my favourite and I couldn’t throw it away.
Everyone becomes a blob of clothes in these months. The AC is uncalled for and if someone turns it on thats because they are sweating because of the many layers of jackets they are wearing.
For some reason, this weather reminds me of hot tea and waffles, and I finally found it! The only place that sells waffle hotdogs and corndogs is now in Fujairah - called “Magic Flakes Cafe†behind Safeer Market where all of the used cars for sale are. Just keep driving down that used cars one way road until you find Al Adil Supermarket. Magic Flakes Cafe is on the same building as Al Adil’s. They also have some nice natural fruit shakes which tastes awesome. And for all y'all that has a sugar/blood pressure problem, there’s a low calorie karak - check it out it’s a must!
Nonetheless, it’s nice to see some clouds slow-dancing on Fujairah sky. Here’s a picture of beautiful clouds and iconic mountains taken from a place I wasn’t supposed to be in.
With this weather, I love my city even more. I just wished that we got snow like Abu Dhabi. Seriously though, It was some shocking news when I found out. Who would have ever thought? I think I spotted a few penguins on the new highway migrating to Abu Dhabi because of this epidemic. My guess is that they have swam to our shore, and continued their path to where the snow is.
Anyone’s got better photos of the weather these days? I keep trying to take a picture but the clouds keep moving and that ticked me off. They don’t really understand the logic of selfies. If you have some photos I’d love to see them! tag me or mention me on instagram @Sindiya23 and I will tag you on future cloud pictures!
Did you know that there is a cloud appreciation society? I think I should sign up with them. They will love me for who I am: A cloud lover.
Until next time, Fajrawis!
